'Bad Mother' admits to late-term abortion
In her memoir, Bad Mother, novelist Ayelet Waldman wrote about having a late-term abortion after a poor prenatal diagnosis, and speaks about an earlier first-trimester abortion in an interview with "Fresh Air's" Terry Gross. She honestly portrays the late-term D&E method, admits the pictures we use of unborn fetuses and their aborted remains are accurate, speaks of her disabled son with love and regret, and yet remains pro-choice. "I can't support a woman's right to choose unless I am willing to look at the darkest side of it," she says. NPR
