Children 'sleep badly' if mum drank in pregnancy
Drinking during pregnancy has previously been linked to low birth weights and developmental problems as well as foetal alcohol syndrome, where the infant is visibly abnormal as a result of the mother's heavy drinking. Psychologist Katri Raikkonen, who studied 289 eight-year-olds, said even low levels of weekly pre-natal exposure to alcohol have adverse effects on sleep quantity and quality during childhood.
