Argentina Credited for Backing Down on Plan to Legalize Abortion

Argentina Faulted for Reproductive Policies - NYTimes.com: The government of Argentina’s president, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, has reversed steps toward protecting women’s health and reproductive rights, and backtracked on its intention to guarantee access to legal abortions, according to Human Rights Watch. This assessment came despite what seems to be a liberal social wave sweeping through Argentina — including approval last month of same-sex marriages, the first in Latin America.
