Crossing the (protest) line on abortion
Over the years, I've seen many protesters at Planned Parenthood. But when I've driven by lately I've sensed more fervor or, if not fervor, at least a bigger crowd. The staff confirms two spikes in protests during the past 18 months, one just before the 2008 election and another that's popped up in the past few weeks. The current spike is due to a national movement called 40 Days For Life, a 40-day campaign of vigils at abortion clinics that's scheduled to end March 28. Orange County Register
