Thinking God will run out of welcome home banners. | Stuff Christians Like – Jon Acuff: I don’t understand forgiveness, and it’s always depressing to me when I read a book that tells me that’s the first step of the Christian walk, believing that God forgives you. If I can’t get past that first step, then the rest of it, all the rest of it, remains completely closed to me.
It’s not that I think I don’t need forgiveness. I just don’t understand how it’s possible.
If I can’t earn it, then it’s out of my control and I’m powerless.
