Nonprofits are leaking donors these days. Finding new folks with willing checkbooks is expensive. Re-engaging donors who have lapsed is getting very fashionable, especially by using the telephone. Non-Profit Times
Editor: BFL does not use telemarketers, but we do make a point of periodically phoning donors -- including churches -- just to say "thank you" and "how can we pray for you?" We do not use the occasion to solicite funds, but it is an effective way to reconnect.
