Dad held on abuse charges » Local News » SalemNews.com, Salem, MA: When his wife told him she was 12 weeks pregnant last summer, Dario Finkel did not take the news well, court papers say, throwing his barefoot and pajama-clad wife out of their Marblehead apartment and refusing to let her back until she either had an abortion or a miscarriage. She didn't, and eventually they got back together.
But after their son, Michael, was born, Finkel was just as upset, allegedly admitting to investigators that he had shaken the baby at least three times in the past and once put his hand over the baby's face to get him to stop crying, all before last week's alleged assault on the 7-week-old infant. He is charged with attempted murder, child endangerment, and assault and battery causing injury to a child.
