IRS intimidates pro-life group

IRS intimidates pro-life group (OneNewsNow.com): The Internal Revenue Service has had a change of heart regarding the Texas pro-life group, Christian Voices for Life, after issuing the organization a challenging letter.

The IRS fired off the letter to the pro-life group with some disturbing questions. '[They asked] whether they did educational activity on both sides of the issues, whether they were trying to block people entering a medical clinic during 40 Days for Life or a Life Chain event, and whether members of the group had attempted to talk to someone trying to enter a medical clinic -- as if there's anything wrong with that,' their attorney says.

What was wrong with the IRS letter, the attorney explains, is that the questions had nothing to do with an application for tax-exempt status. The Thomas More Society proceeded to fire off a strongly worded letter to the IRS -- and it got results. 'It was just a few days later Christian Voices for Life received a letter confirming that their tax exemption had been granted.'
