Muslim girls and women in the United States face unique obstacles and challenges as a result of their cultural and religious background. By contrast, efforts in the United States are lagging behind.
The AHA Foundation has found that forced marriages, female genital mutilation, and acts of honor violence and honor killings take place in the United States more often and with a greater degree of severity than is commonly assumed.
